People’s Participation In Education (WATU) is a non-governmental and not- for-profit organization based in Moshi (the home of Mount Kilimanjaro) in Tanzania. It was established by International School teachers who have spent more than 15 years supporting educational development in Tanzania in various aspects.
The country Director is Josiah Mchome who is former Economics and Business Studies teacher as well as CAS Coordinator at International School Moshi. At International School Moshi, Josiah gave the CAS programme an International exposure by inviting foreign schools to open up work relationship with local schools. Before joining International School Moshi, Josiah worked for United States Peace Corps in Tanzania as Country Training Director. He has a wide experience working with students and adults from other countries.
