Developing educational facilities

People's Participation in Education (Watu), a trust fund and a non-governmental organization, solicits funds from both within and outside Tanzania and encourages individuals and organizations to participate in the development of educational facilities.

We try to help especially those who are underprivileged. We are located in Moshi, in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania.

Your donations help us

  • mobilize resources to improve the quality of education in northern Tanzania,
    • in disadvantaged areas;
    • in rural and urban areas;
    • in pre-primary, primary and secondary education;
  • ensure that as many young people as possible have access to such improved educational facilities;
  • act as the representative of any institution or individual committed to the development of educational support;
  • create a fully equipped resource and conference centre for teachers, students and educational administrators;
  • assist governmental departments and local authorities to achieve their objectives in education.

To this day

We have helped over twenty schools for children of all ages in the towns and villages of northern Tanzania.

Whilst these infrastructures have been crucial, local educators expressed the need for more modern and efficient teaching methodology.

As a result, we are building a learning and resource centre in the village of Shiri-Mgungani. A centre equipped with a science lab, a computer lab, a library with Internet access and a conference hall.
