- 1995: beginning of renovation work at Singa Boro Primary School; continuation of work at Sokoini; first contact with special needs unit at Korongoni Primary School.
- 1996: construction of a second duka; interior decoration of old special needs unit at Korongoni; aborted attempt at construction of duka at the bus station; continuation of renovation work at Singa Boro; construction of toilet block at Kileo Primary School and plans for a similar block for Kivolini Primary School.
- 1997: digging of foundations and laying of floors of new Special Needs Unit at Korongoni; continuation of renovation work at Singa Boro; toilets completed at Kivolini.
- 1998: construction of Korongoni Special Needs Unit up to roof level; continuation of renovation work at Singa Boro; construction of pre-primary classroom at Makaa.
- 1999: virtual completion of Korongoni Special Needs Unit; continuation of renovation work at Singa Boro, especially library; classroom renovation at Makaa; floors and ceilings at Kibo Secondary School; water tank at Mkombezi street children’s project.
- 2000: first contacts with Olduvai Secondary School and agreement to fund construction of sports pitch; continuation of renovation work at Singa Boro; opening of Korongoni Special Needs Unit; kitchen at Makaa; building work at Kibo; preliminary visit to Mikocheni Primary School.
- 2000 October: meeting with local Red Cross workers and Moshi Rural Education Department on plans for Mikocheni; plans developed for Kyaseni pre-Primary School; electricity to girls boarding house at Kibo.
How we started
- 2001: renovation continues at Singa Boro, particularly a new kitchen; new kitchen also begun at Korongoni; work on science laboratories and girls boarding house at Kibo; continuation of work at Makaa; floors in nine classrooms laid at Miembeni Primary School in conjunction with Moshi Urban District Education Authority; work begins at Mikocheni.
- 2002: new classroom block at Boro; six more floors at Miembeni; new classroom at Makaa; Korongoni kitchen finished; funding for Olduvai dormitories well underway; Kibo now self-sufficient;.Mikocheni finished; computer delivered to Miembeni Secondary School together with completion of science laboratory which becomes a model to follow; work continues at Kyaseni on pre-primary classrooms.
- 2003: work restarts at Makaa; teachers’ house at Singa Boro; new classroom at Miembeni Primary School; new toilets and water-harvesting system at Kyaseni; dormitories completed at Olduvai and funding given towards science laboratories which were completed in November; funding given to Kishari boys home.
- 2003 October: substantial funds for support of local children in secondary education raised.
- 2004 new classroom at Miembeni Primary School; first teachers' house at Loibersirrat Masai Primary School.
- 2005 Two classrooms contructed at Singa Boro; Second Teachers' house completed at Loibersirrat; Foundations of administration block at J.K. Nyerere Secondary School.
- 2006 Teachers' house completed and started teachers' office at Singa Boro; teachers house completed at Loibersirrat; began contributing funds to Sakoya Secondary Marangu; Major classroom renovation at Langoni.
- 2007 Continued classroom renovation at Loibersirrat; Veranda constructed at Langoni Secondary School; continued funding for Sakoya Secondary Marangu; Foundations completed at Shiri-Mgungani.
- 2008 Main building completed at Shiri-Mgungani, foundations of Science laboratory and hostel begun, toilet block, kitchen and store room completed. The International School of Geneva continued to give support to Langoni Primary School.
- 2009 Science laboratory and first wing of hostel completed at Shiri-Mgungani. Supported by International School of Geneva at Langoni and Singaboro.
